Research Statement

My research focuses on healthcare consumer judgment and decision-making. In my dissertation research, I examined how patients evaluated their physicians in online physician reviews. I investigated what reviews conveyed about the physician characteristics patients value, and whether differences exist in patient judgments based on physicians' specialty and gender. In my current research, I study how patients judge physicians who use AI in their medical decision making and how publicly posted quality measures are related to veteran choices on where to seek healthcare.
